The British Chamber of Commerce in Spain is the only British-Spanish business independent organisation in Spain. It was founded in 1908 and is a privately funded non-profit-making organisation supported by its members and run primarily for their benefit. The Chamber has an average of 270 members and operations in Madrid, Barcelona and Málaga. The mission of the Chamber if to promote trade and investment between British and Spanish companies, represent the interest of member companies in front of decision makers and the organisation of activities to help increase the business relations and visibility of its members.
The Chamber works closely with bilateral government and business institutions such as the British Embassy and UKTI Spain, being the British Ambassador to Spain the Honorary President of the Chamber.
The Chamber benefits cover the access to relevant people and information, attendance and collaboration at events, the promotion of members business in the Chamber communications channels and the advocacy of the interests of member companies in front of key decision makers.
The Chamber organises an average of 50 events per year in the three cities of operation and occasionally in London. Events have a variety of formats and cover key topics of the bilateral business and political agenda. The Chamber also has the British Investment in Spain Committee to represent the interests of British investors in Spain, publish the annual Barometer of British Investment and organise an annual bilateral forum.
