Business Breakfast Briefing - Air connectivity: Low cost Vs Traditional Airlines, UK-Lithuania Case

Despite the fact that Lithuania has got good air connectivity with the UK, the comments we have been receiving over the last years are that all goes only by low cost careers, but nothing in terms of direct flights from either Heathrow or Gatwick with traditional careers. The current situation does not look good for the country’s image either, as low cost airlines do not attract enough of the business travellers. We understand that the Lithuanian Airports have been trying to improve the situation and taking various initiatives and talking to the Airlines, however, the business community has seen no concrete results and wonder what are the reasons are for that. Some of you will recall that in 2016 the questionnaire was released by Invest Lithuania and Lithuanian Airports to identify  the need for the traditional airline to serve London Heathrow or London Gatwick route to Vilnius, which has clearly shown a demand.

Based on the above, the BCCL is taking an initiative and bringing all the interested groups together to discuss the current situation. The chamber believes that this will be of your interest to attend and hear the information from the Lithuanian Airports, Invest Lithuania and one of their members, the British Investor and see how working all together they could move things forwards.
