Barometer on climate and outlook for British investment in Spain


Our member in Spain, the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, has launched the 2nd edition of their 'Barometer on Climate and Outlook on British Investment in Spain'.

The barometer provides an overview of foreign investment developments in the country, gives British companies' valuation of the business climate and looks at the prospects of British investment in Spain.

The UK is the third biggest investor in Spain, showing the its consistent commitment to investing in Spain. Over the last 23 years, the UK has cumulatively invested more money than any other country, with more than €66.3 billion invested during that time.
 
 British investments generated more than 160,000 jobs in Spain, which accounted for 1% of all jobs in the country. They also contributed more than €6.1 billion to public administrations in tax and social security.
 
Furthermore, in 2014, British FDI stock grew for the first time since 2008, reaching €37,000, some 11.8% more than the previous year.
