New chair and plans for COBCOE Young Professionals

Nana Frempong, COBCOE YPN ChairAre you an ambitious young professional? Would you like more opportunities for networking, professional development and volunteering?

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) founded by COBCOE has a wider focus than many young professional groups as it is not tied to a particualr industry. Based in London, the YPN team aims to bring together people from different backgrounds and roles to hear about topics that may seem familiar, but from perspectives that could differ greatly.

The YPN's new Chair is Nana Frempong, who stepped up from the group to drive the agenda in April 2017. Nana, an experienced compliance and financial crime prevention professional, is currently working as Assistant Financial Crime Prevention Manager at ICICI Bank. On taking up the role, she said: " Being made Chair of the YPN is a responsibility that I'm honoured and excited about. It's a great opportunity for me to contribute and build stronger relationships with the help of COBCOE that will help enhance our networking platform.

YPN events so far have been varied, focusing on topics that are high on everyone's agenda, including Brexit, Fraud and the impact of technology in the workplace. Each event mixes speakers leading in their fields with those who are starting to make a difference in theirs. The next events will take place after the summer with themes to be announced soon.

The group also looks to partner with other likeminded young professional groups, enjoying a close relationship with the Future Fraud Professionals and the AIG Young Professionals and Allies, among others.

If you would like to learn more about the network, visit the webpage, or join the mailing list to be the first to hear about future events.
